Alotta drummers (esp. young ones) dont understand this.
Play within your means.
Play within the beat.
Ppl dont go to concerts to hear u solo, they’re there to see who ever is singing, and hear some guitar riffs.
So u start off modest and add some tasty fills
and then maybe towards the end u can solo a little. Hence the unwritten rules.
